The Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham is planning to re-open on Wednesday July 22.
And that includes Aqua-Tek for the rest of the Summer.
Set in the former Templeborough steelworks, Magna is a family attraction with more than 100 hands-on exhibits. Millions of pounds have been invested in conference facilities at the centre which is operated by a charity, the Magna Trust.
Operators have made some changes to meet UK Government guidelines and minimise risks from coronavirus.
Daily visitor numbers will be capped and tickets will be put on sale a week at a time.
Normal ticketing procedures have been changed and Magna tickets are only available online. It is not possible to buy admission tickets at Magna’s reception desks.
Bosses have also confirmed that if you have an online ticket purchased after 1st Jan 2020 and you have not yet visited, then its validity has been extended from 3 to 12 months. If you have an Annual Pass which expired after 22nd March and before 22nd July 2020, it will be extended so you can visit over the summer holidays.
With the Government recently announcing that outdoor pools and waterparks can be enjoyed again, Aqua-Tek at Magna will also re-open. One of the UK’s largest outdoor water play zones and suitable for children of all ages, the attraction enables you to create a splash with the features on offer including cannons, spray arches, dumping buckets and water wheels.
Back inside, Magna is going cash free to help minimise risk, and will only be accepting payments by card in its shop and cafes.
A spokesperson, added: “In addition to capping numbers you will find extra hand-sanitising stations in key areas, the cafe has moved to the Big Hall to increase social distancing between tables, and a suggested route around the main exhibition to improve people flow. As ever we have a very large and airy building!”
