October events at Yorkshire’s Hidden Gems

Gulliver’s Valley starts the month with Grandparents’ Weekend where two Grandparents get FREE ENTRY when accompanied by one full paying person on October 1st and 2nd.

For the rest of the month, the UK’s newest theme park turns into a Fright Fiesta – a festival-style Halloween that’s bursting with colour, costumes and music. At Clifton Park, the circus is in town until October 2. Big Kid Circus presents “Mayhem” is an amazing brand new show full of excitement for the whole family and loads of surprises which will keep you on the edge of your seats.

There are more epic events at Magna in October. On the 13th, the best night in darts entertainment is coming to the unique venue.

Gerwyn Price and Gary Anderson will square off at the Showdown Darts event that will also feature Nathan Aspinall, Ryan Searle and Toni Alcinas. The show is from ZH Live, a division of ZWA Sports Ltd; a sports management company specialising in the management of professional darts & snooker players.

On October 1, Magna hosts the hottest Muay Thai and Kickboxing promotion in Europe. Muay Thai Grand Prix features a stacked card of talent from around the globe and the second stage of the quarter finals on the road to ONE Championship.

The Yorkshire Chocolate Festival is set for October 15 with live music, workshops and over 70 stalls featuring all things chocolate! You can indulge in the taste of luxury and support South Yorkshire youth homeless charity, Roundabout.

At Wentworth Woodhouse, Grandparents Day is being celebrated with Afternoon Tea on October 2 whist a Regency Ball is planned for the elegant surroundings of the stately home on October 8.

In October, Rotherham Civic hosts part of the Off The Shelf Festival that celebrates books, words and ideas. Journalist and TV presenter Dan Walker will talk about his new book “Standing on The Shoulders” on October 15. The book dives into the stories of lesser known everyday heroes in extraordinary situations.
