Gulliver’s Valley has been showing its support to a leading children’s charity over the summer by holding a number of special initiatives.
The Rotherham resort joined forces with Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice back in 2020 pledging to help the organisation with fundraising and promotional activities and that support has gone from strength-to-strength ever since.
Over the busy summer period, Gulliver’s Valley welcomed brothers and sisters of children supported by the hospice, giving them the chance to enjoy a much-deserved day at the theme park.
In addition, a fun run was held raising a whopping £1,860 for the charity, with 373 runners crossing the finish line during the two-day event.
The team from Bluebell Wood has also been on site in the last few weeks promoting the Gulliver’s partnership, collecting donations, and telling people about the vital family support services the hospice is still providing to local children, young people and families.
Ruth Wallbank, Regional Fundraising Manager at Bluebell Wood, said: “The continued support and exposure our partnership with Gulliver’s Valley offers has been simply amazing. From hosting family fun runs to allowing our team to attend the park, this partnership has given us ample opportunities to raise much needed funds and tell supporters about the vital care we provide across the region.
“Gulliver’s Valley also made a massive difference to the group of children who attended our sibling fun day at the park, and we have had some amazing feedback from those who came along. We just wanted to say a thank you to the whole Gulliver’s team for the support they have shown us.”
Adam Bliss from Gulliver’s Valley said: “We have a really great relationship with Bluebell Wood and are always happy to help in any way we can with the vital work they do across the region. We were particularly pleased to welcome the sibling support group along as it was fantastic to see them have such an enjoyable day out.
“Gulliver’s is a family business so playing a positive role in the community we are part of is really important to us. We are thrilled to work with Bluebell Wood and look forward to growing our already successful partnership in the future.”
