Ravers will “Rendez-Vu” in Rotherham this August to “Jump n’ Shout” to a DJ set from iconic dance music duo, Basement Jaxx.
90’s Fest – “the UK’s biggest 90’s dance music festival” – returns to Magna in Rotherham this summer.
In April 2019, thousands of ravers dusted off their glow sticks to dance the night away to their favourite 90’s DJs. The sheer size and flexibility of the former steelworks meant that a number of separate arenas could be created.
In lockdown in 2020, organisers livestreamed eight hours of DJs on YouTube to raise over £8,000 for NHS charities. Moving outdoors in 2021 to adhere to COVID-19 regulations, 90’s Fest created separate arenas for club classics, trance, house and drum n’ bass.
2022’s event takes place on August 6.
Basement Jaxx will trade the decadent clubs of Ibiza for the unique setting of a former steelworks in Templeborough. Named after the Brixton events they hosted, Simon Ratcliffe and Felix Buxton hit the big time with a phenomenal debut album, Remedy, hailed as one of the most significant records of the 1990s.
Other acts at 90s Fest 2022 include Vengaboys, n-trance, SNAP!, Phats & Small, Judge Jules, Todd Terry and The Tidy Boys.
